Charlotte Keates 于 1990 年出生在英国萨默塞特郡，并于康沃尔郡的法尔茅斯大学取得美术学士，目前居住与创作于根西。
Keates 的作品灵感源自室内设计、旅游、建筑结构，并将他们与自然界元素完美融合。树木穿过平坦的水泥，而视角在片状玻璃之中延展。这些现代休闲的画面让人感觉进入一个空置不久的空间，戏剧性地展现了静态，但同时也透过技法与艺术性暗示着人类活动及环境中的动态。
“我所画的室内环境是完全虚构的－我对建筑非常感兴趣，比如室内的某个角度或者空间结构。我不一定会在脑中建构出室内环境，而是从一个启发我的元素开始，让画面自行发展。有一种期待却又静止的感觉，彷佛是凝结于时间的某一刻，记住某个地点或物件的瞬间。我想表达的正是这种脆弱和不堪一击的感觉，就像是等待某件事情发生或者浮现。”
倘若如凯文．林区于《城市的意象》（1960）一书中所述，建筑物是“空间的建设”，是一种“时间的艺术”，那么 Keates 的作品则充满几何与梯形的意象，将许多的水泥建筑化为几何图形。Keates 的作品横跨不同领域，藉由“超越感官”以及更多“尚待发掘”的场景、角落、面向，观者将被无可言喻的恬静、宽敞的景象所震撼。
Charlotte Keates 自 2022 年起与亚洲艺术中心合作展出多次，2025 年起成为亚洲艺术中心代理艺术家，重要联展包括“Unseen Topographies: Tobe Kiu Sin Kan & Charlotte Keates”（2026，亚洲艺术中心，台北）、“心象／外相：国际当代绘画特展”（2025，朱铭美术馆，台北）、重要艺博会之参与包括 “Art Collaboration Kyoto”（2025，京都）。
