Charlotte Keates 於 1990 年出生在英國薩默塞特郡，並於康沃爾郡的法爾茅斯大學取得美術學士，目前居住與創作於根西。
Keates 的作品靈感源自室內設計、旅遊、建築結構，並將他們與自然界元素完美融合。樹木穿過平坦的水泥，而視角在片狀玻璃之中延展。這些現代休閒的畫面讓人感覺進入一個空置不久的空間，戲劇性地展現了靜態，但同時也透過技法與藝術性暗示著人類活動及環境中的動態。
「我所畫的室內環境是完全虛構的——我對建築非常感興趣，比如室內的某個角度或者空間結構。我不一定會在腦中建構出室內環境，而是從一個啟發我的元素開始，讓畫面自行發展。有一種期待卻又靜止的感覺，彷彿是凝結於時間的某一刻，記住某個地點或物件的瞬間。我想表達的正是這種脆弱和不堪一擊的感覺，就像是等待某件事情發生或者浮現。」
倘若如凱文．林區於《城市的意象》（1960）一書中所述，建築物是「空間的建設」，是一種「時間的藝術」，那麼 Keates 的作品則充滿幾何與梯形的意象，將許多的水泥建築化為幾何圖形。Keates 的作品橫跨不同領域，藉由「超越感官」以及更多「尚待發掘」的場景、角落、面向，觀者將被無可言喻的恬靜、寬敞的景象所震撼。
Charlotte Keates 自 2022 年起與亞洲藝術中心合作展出多次，2025 年起成為亞洲藝術中心代理藝術家，重要聯展包括「Unseen Topographies: Tobe Kiu Sin Kan & Charlotte Keates」（2026，亞洲藝術中心，台北）、「心象／外相：國際當代繪畫特展」（2025，朱銘美術館，台北）、重要藝博會之參與包括「Art Collaboration Kyoto」（2025，京都）。
