Window on ART is a highly professional program created by Taiwan’s Public Television Service Channel, dedicated to introducing its viewers to culture and art. Within the program of only a minute and a half, the team at PTS used high-speed recording camera to fully capture Yang’s spirit of Eastern poetics and his delicate brushstrokes. Yang Chihung says that “abstract art expresses the otherwise invisible human sub-consciousness or the so-called ‘reality within’; it is in fact an extremely complex and mysterious cognitive process.” Yang’s works evoke a profound Eastern cultural heritage, beautifully articulating its serene and humble sensibility.
In addition to a thorough interview of Yang’s creative process, his solo exhibition The Poetics of Polyphony at Asia Art Center Taipei from 25th October－7th December,2014 is also introduced, which displays creations accumulated for over a half of a century.
