Announcing representation of artist Charlotte Keates

Since 2022, Asia Art Center has collaborated closely with Charlotte Keates, featuring her work in multiple gallery exhibitions and international art fairs. Through these continued engagements, we have been deeply moved by the sensitivity, imagination, and poetic quality embedded in her meticulously rendered paintings. We are now delighted to announce that Charlotte Keates has officially joined Asia Art Center’s roster of represented artists.

Charlotte Keates was born in 1990 in Somerset, United Kingdom, and currently lives and works in Guernsey. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Falmouth University. Her paintings gently weave together impressions of space and structure with subtle narratives, often emerging through the interplay of distinctive colors and carefully placed objects. These scenes do not depict real places but rather reflect traces of memory and quiet moments of perception. The spaces she constructs are imagined, yet the emotions they carry feel genuine and immediate. Without relying on overt storytelling, her works convey a calm presence and a quiet tension. As art historian Marco Livingstone observed, “the highlighted area acquires a hypnotic presence, as if spotlit into existence from within an atmosphere of ambiguous limitless space.”

Charlotte Keates will take part in a major group exhibition at the Juming Museum, founded by internationally acclaimed artist Ju Ming, in October 2025. This opportunity will strengthen her ties with Taiwan and the broader Asian art community. Her works, engaging with the museum’s distinctive architecture and the expansive natural landscape across approximately 7.76 hectares (about 19 acres), are expected to create a poetic dialogue with the environment and offer audiences a deeply immersive experience.
