“Accumulations–The Spirit of the East” presents twenty leading 20th Chinese artists living in China and overseas. Representative works ranging from painting, photography, sculpture to video show how these artists born in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s adopt various strategies to break through the shadows of tradition in their search for a unique artistic language and style. The accumulations over time distill into a strong artistic voice representing the Spirit of the East. This exhibition commemorating the Opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics provides the art circle with an international platform for dialogue and the audience a golden opportunity to view the works of these prominent artists.
