Li Chen's indoor sculptures generally do not require additional maintenance beyond dusting and wiping off fingerprints. The black surfaces of the sculptures have been treated with an anti-oxidation coating, ensuring their durability and stability over time when displayed indoors.
  • Special Precautions

1.Ensure All Maintenance Tools Are Clean Before Use
Before performing any maintenance, please make sure all cleaning tools are completely clean. Do not use tools that are not recommended. If there are any foreign particles on the cotton cloth, they may scratch the sculpture’s surface during wiping. Extra caution is advised.

    2.Avoid Contact with Sharp Accessories
Viewers wearing rings, watches, or other sharp objects should be especially careful when approaching the artwork to prevent accidental scratches on the sculpture’s surface.

3.Handle with Professional Care During Relocation
Each of Li Chen’s sculptures is meticulously crafted to achieve a refined and delicate appearance. Any improper external force may cause surface scratches. If you need to move the sculpture, please consult a professional, prepare appropriate equipment, and ensure the base is secure before gently placing the artwork in its new position.

4.Do Not Use Alcohol or Chemical Cleaners
Never use alcohol, brass polish, chemical cleaners, household detergents, or furniture polish on the artwork, as these substances may cause damage.

    5.Surface Treatment on Colored Sculptures
Some series feature gold, silver, or bronze-toned surfaces created through the artist’s unique hand-applied techniques. These finishes may include a soft misty effect and subtle textures, which are intentional and not signs of dirt. Use a Vikan dusting brush to remove dust, and gently wipe off visible fingerprints with a 3M microfiber cloth. Do not scrub the surface excessively or with force, as it may cause irreversible damage to the original finish.

6.Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the sculpture’s condition and appearance. Use a Vikan dusting brush to gently remove dust following a top-to-bottom, inside-to-outside sequence. This method helps prevent the buildup of dust and dirt on the artwork’s surface.

If visible fingerprints are present, gently wipe the area with a 3M microfiber cloth using light, even strokes to remove them without damaging the finish.

During routine cleaning, it is also recommended to inspect the sculpture for any irregularities. If you notice signs of oxidation, damage, or any unusual changes, please contact Asia Art Center immediately at +886-2-2754-1366.
